The Issue

Currently, with various factors that prevent children from accessing education (financial limitations, lack of quality education or irregular attendance), Cambodia, especially in rural areas, faces the issue of low motivation to seek an education.

For instance, in Koh Oknha Tei Island, only one English academy provides basic English education. Yet this is still inaccessible for many as tuition places a financial burden on families with the average monthly income of rural Cambodian households standing at just $201.87 (according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations).

With this, noting that many public schools do not offer English as part of their curriculum or provide interactive and engaging play-types lessons, CEEI attempts to face this issue with our month-long English camps
